Here I sit, a mere hour after a visit to the surgery of Mr Hitesh Batavia, a dental practitioner of considerable skill and charm with most of my mouth in ‘non-function’ mode. My considerable intellect reminds me that there are Jungle People living in Columbia who, as a dietary supplement, chew on the coca leaf but overlook the total numbness that affects their mouths and teeth. I therefore asked Mr Batavia, himself a gentleman of no mean intellect, if the base of the hell brew with which he numbed my mouth today had its roots in Southern American jungles, but he said no. You might think this aside an irrelevance. It is not. In this little exchange between Mr Batavia and I lies the very secret of the Ravenscourt Holistic (eh?) Dental Practice. For not only is Mr Batavia a most skilled dentist, he is also a gentleman possessed of a ready wit and charm. This makes the utter murder of sitting in a chair with the lights on you while Dr Zell mutters ‘is it safe?’ a distant memory. Batavia the Balsamic. The Healer. Have Faith. Make the Pilgrimage.
