Implants help you to achieve a Natural looking smile.
Have you lost a tooth in an accident or due to dental extraction? We understand that this can cause a great deal of distress and embarrassment for many people.
But did you know that thanks to advances in modern dentistry, in most cases, it is easy to restore a natural looking and healthy smile with the use of dental implants?
What are dental implants?
An implant is a permanently fixed artificial tooth which looks and feels close to the real thing. The implant is held in place by a small titanium screw which is placed in the jawbone and acts like the root to hold the crown in place.
Once the implant has been fitted the bone grows around the titanium screw and the gum heals around it.
During your first appointment, the dentist will conduct an examination of your teeth, gums and jawbone to see if an implant is a feasible option for you. The procedure itself takes between four to six visits over a period of a few months to complete, and can usually be done under nothing more than a local anaesthetic.

Dental Implant FAQs
Although you will eventually be able to eat and drink whatever you like, initially you should avoid certain foods as to prevent damaging your new smile. Some foods to avoid include:
• Apples
• Tough crusty bread
• Hard sweets
• Steak or other chewy meats
• Alcoholic beverages
• Acidic drinks
Once your implants have properly settled and healed, you should have no problem eating a full and unrestricted diet.
One of the best things about dental implants is that almost anyone who is suffering from tooth loss can benefit. Typically, it is not advised that dental implants are used in those under the age of 18, however there is no upper age limit for this type of procedure.
In fact, dental implants have become a more popular option with older individuals who don’t want ill-fitting removeable dentures.
Whilst dental implants will look and feel natural once they are in situ and the area has healed, the procedure itself is quite an invasive one. That’s why our team put your comfort at the heart of all we do, offering a range of options to help you feel relaxed and pain-free during your time with us.
