How does Enlighten Whitening work?
Step 1
The process begins with your dentist creating custom moulds of your teeth, which are made in the Enlighten lab and can take up to two weeks to make. A second visit will then need to be scheduled to collect them and learn how to use the whitening kit at home.
Step 2
For the next two weeks, using your home whitening kit, you will be required to fill in your moulds with the Enlighten whitening gel and wear them overnight. For the strongest whitening results, switch to the stronger gel after week one is complete. There is an anti-sensitivity product available in the kit in case you start to feel any discomfort.
Step 3
Once you have finished the take-home treatment, you will need to return to the practice for an additional 60-minute in-practice whitening session. You will be left with teeth up to 16 shades brighter, depending on your own personal preference.
Step 4
We will suggest a personal and appropriate aftercare plan to suit your individual needs, but the usual protocol is wearing the trays for one night every month to top up your new bright smile.
